Avanti Air, a renowned flight service based in the Siegerland and flytouropa, a newly founded provider of domestic flights, are starting their cooperation. As of 11 June, an ATR 72 of Avanti Air will operate the routes from the Bavarian Memmingen to Hamburg and Berlin. Thus, Bavaria’s third commercial airport, the Allgäu Airport, will close the severe gaps that the withdrawal of Air Berlin caused in the network in 2010.
Avanti and flytouropa, a brand of the touropa touristik GmbH & Co. KG established at the end of last year, are working together under a full charter contract. Three four-person crews and one technician will be stationed in the Allgäu region. Flights will be departing Monday thru Friday in the morning, at noon time and in the evening, as well as on Sunday, with a 68-seat ATR 72. “We have already gathered experiences abroad with similar cooperation projects“, reports Markus Baumann, Managing Director of Avanti Air. “We are optimistic that we and flytouropa will be economically successful and that we are able to enhance this cooperation“. Georg Eisenreich, Managing Director, stated that flytouropa chose Avanti Air, which was established in 1994, for its long-term experience. We opted deliberately for a turboprop aircraft, because it offers both economical as well as ecological advantages. “In times of increasing kerosene prices the turboprop enjoys a true renaissance“, says pleased the Managing Director of Avanti, Markus Baumann, who continued to stick to this model.
The provider from the Allgäu sees specifically business people of the economically strong region with its numerous successful medium-sized companies as target group. Round about 70 companies, including global players such as the Dachser Logistic Group, support the Allgäu Airport, which opened on the site of the former military airport in 2007, as partners. By flying German national league teams Avanti was already a customer of the Allgäu Airport, Germany’s highest situated commercial airport. Avanti plans to recruit several local flight attendants, who will be deployed on the new routes.
Avanti Air, located in Burbach near Siegen, was established in 1994 by the two pilots Markus Baumann and Stefan Kissinger, who manage the company as directing managers still today. According to international safety standards the company is IOSA certified and has a fleet of the most recent turboprop aircrafts by the European manufacturer Avions de Transport Régional. World-wide, the ATR42/72 is one of the most manufactured regional aircrafts, which fulfils the highest noise control standards and is considered to be environment-friendly and efficient. In-house training for pilots (TRTO No. 1.073) as well as in-house engineering guarantee for continuous reliability and safety. Avanti Air has a long-term experience in the field of individual charter flights, cargo, wet-lease and aircraft management. The company has currently 70 employees.
